AURORA, Ill. - The next time someone tells you quantity is more important than quality, tell them about the Edgewood College men's soccer game against Aurora University. Despite being outshot 22-4, the Eagles made their four shots count, with Jerrid Dokey netting both of the Eagles' goals in a 2-1 Northern Athletics Conference opening victory.

Unlike their first three matches this season, the Eagles failed to score the first goal of the game. Aurora University's Bobby Gonnella slid a shot past Eagle goalkeeper Shane Sullivan in the 32nd minute of play. That would turn out to be the only blemish on Sullivan's sheet all day, as the junior goalkeeper made nine saves, including three in the final 20 minutes of the game to preserve the victory.

Dokey equalized the score less than six minutes after Gonnella's goal. The game-winner came in the 64th minute shortly after an Eagle corner kick. For Dokey, it was his third goal of the season and gave him 51 career points moving him into the top 10 scorers in Edgewood College history. Dokey had three of the Eagles' four shots, with Woody Burns getting off the only other attempt.

Edgewood College will return home for a non-conference matchup with North Park University on Wednesday night.
