DE PERE, Wis. - The Edgewood College men's soccer team knocked off their second regionally ranked opponent this season on a chilly day in De Pere. The Eagles defeated St. Norbert College 2-1 to win their seventh game in their last eight outings.

The Eagles (7-2-2) first goal of the day followed a corner kick in the 26th minute. Senior Andriy Apetrey scored off a pass from classmate Anthony Colletti for his sixth goal of the season. For Colletti, it was his first assist of the season and fifth of his career. The Green Knights (7-3) wasted no time in answering Apetrey's goal. Adam Sanchez found the back of the net off a Ben VandenAvond assist in the 29th minute to knot the game at one.

The score remained squared with less than 10 minutes to play in the match. Finally, in the 82nd minute Jerrid Dokey took a pass from Andy Witek and scored past Green Knight goalkeeper Joe Schwartz for the game-winner. It was Dokey's fifth goal of the year, and made him the eighth Eagle in history to reach 25 goals in his career.

Edgewood College goalkeeper Shane Sullivan notched his six victory of the year by making three saves. St. Norbert College entered the game as the fourth-ranked team in the North region.

The Eagles will try to protect their perfect Northern Athletics Conference record on Wednesday when they travel to Milwaukee to face MSOE. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
