LISLE, Ill. - Wet conditions and the Benedictine University Eagles were no match for the Edgewood College men's soccer team in their Northern Athletics Conference opener. Jerrid Dokey scored twice and Andriy Apetrey added a goal and an assist in a 4-0 Edgewood College victory in the Northern Athletics Conference opener for both teams.

After waiting more than two hours after their scheduled start due to lightning in the area, Dokey put the Eagles on the board with a goal in the 20th minute. Apetrey assisted on the play. Senior Mike Paroubeck scored his first goal of the season unassisted nine minutes later to give Edgewood College (3-3, 1-0 NAC) a 2-0 lead.

Dokey capped the first half with his second goal of the game, this time assisted by Greg Dezell. Apetrey netted his own goal 10 minutes after halftime, assisted by Tyler Duellman.

Edgewood College limited Benedictine University (1-4, 0-1) to just two shots on goal and outshot them 21-10 for the match.

Edgewood College will return to the Prairie State on Tuesday for a non-conference match at North Park University.
