MADISON, Wis. - Edgewood College shook off the effects of two straight losses and downed Rockford College 5-0 in a Northern Athletics Conference match. The Eagles managed to score five unassisted goals in routing the Regents.
The Eagles (5-6, 3-2 NAC) found the back of the net three times in the first half. Jerrid Dokey broke the ice 22 minutes into the game team-leading seventh goal of the season. Matt Pampuch and Jim Brandon then scored just over two minutes apart to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead at intermission.
In the second half, Mike Paroubeck and Tyler Duellman matched Pampuch and Brandon's feat, scoring two minutes apart for the final five-goal margin.
Edgewood College goalkeepers Shane Sullivan and Francisco Yacuta-Santana shared the shutout, although neither of them was forced to make a save. The Eagles outshot Rockford College (1-8, 1-6 NAC) 16-2 for the match.
Edgewood College will return home for their next match, a Wednesday night showdown with Lakeland College. Game time on Wednesday is 7:00 p.m.
