MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Edgewood College men's soccer team got back on the winning track Saturday afternoon thanks to two first half goals that held for a 2-1 win on the road at Wisconsin Lutheran.

Winning on the road has become a recurring theme for Edgewood College (6-7, 4-3 NAC) since after its first trip to Milwaukee on October 3, 1992. That day the Warriors (4-8, 2-5 NAC) got the best of Eagles in what was the first meeting between the two schools in the inaugural season of men's soccer at Edgewood College, but Saturday marked the 11th straight loss to its conference foe on its home turf.

Andriy Apetrey cracked the Warrior goal keeper first by sneaking in a 14th minute goal to put the Eagles ahead early. It was Apetrey's fourth goal of the season while Anthony Colletti collected his third helper of the year.

Just 8:47 later, Mike Bourgeois took an Apetrey pass and was able to weave his way through the Warrior defense for his second goal of the year to give Edgewood College a 2-0 lead before halftime. The two-goal advantage stood until the 74th minute when WLC's James Sather was able to tack on a goal for the Warriors to make things interesting at the end.

The Eagle defense did its job in holding WLC without a goal for the remainder of the match to preserve the win and move the team to a game above .500 in NAC play.

Edgewood College will hit the pitch next against Maranatha Baptist this Tuesday at Breese Stevens Field. Game is slated for a 7:00 p.m. start.
