BELOIT, Wis. (Sept. 5, 2007) -- Megan Sura (Superior, Wis.) and Katie Schneider (Madison, Wis.) picked up key wins at their respective singles flights to help secure a 5-4 Edgewood College victory Wednesday at Beloit College. The Eagles move to 1-2 on the season following their first victory.
Kelsey Steinhorst (Baraboo, Wis.) and Bridget Prendergast (Dixon, Ill.) cruised to another victory at No. 2 doubles 8-1. Leslie Reed (Freeport, Ill.) and Brittany Storhoff (Lodi, Wis.) teamed up for an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles. No. 1 doubles, Hannah Pincsak (Broofield, Wis.) and Kate Brondyke (Clinton, Iowa), lost a 9-7 heartbreaker, barely missing the sweep.
Steinhorst also won her match at No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-1, while Storhoff rallied from behind to nearly catch Beloit's Julia Win at No. 6 singles 6-4, 6-7, 10-2.
Edgewood College will host UW-Eau Claire this Friday, Sept. 7 at McKee Farms Park.
