MADISON, Wis. (Sept. 18, 2007) – Playing in their last game at Breese Stevens Field this season, the Edgewood College women’s soccer team routed Marian College on Tuesday night, 9-0, to improve to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the Northern Athletics Conference. The Eagles will play the remainder of their games at Warner Park while the historic city stadium undergoes renovations.
Six different players found the back of the net in the Eagles’ victory.
Amanda Rhyner (Delavan, Wis.) led the squad with three goals and one assist. It was the sixth time in Rhyner’s career she scored three or more goals in a game.
Elyse Clouthier (Oconomowoc, Wis.) tallied two goals and an assist and
Erika Thompson (Waukesha, Wis.) scored once, including a career-high four assists.
Also getting involved in the scoring were
Kara Peppler (Madison, Wis.),
Molly Boberschmidt (Waukesha, Wis.), and
Tara Miller (Seattle, Wash.). Boberschmidt,
Tammi Hagensick (Madison, Wis.), and
Laura Marx (New Berlin, Wis.) recorded two assists each.
