RIPON, Wis. (Sept. 1, 2007) -- All-conference midfielders Kevin Fisher (Green Bay, Wis.) and Shaun Glynn (Prairie du Sac, Wis.) opened the 2007 season exactly where they left off, leading Edgewood College to a 2-0 shutout Saturday at Ripon College.

The Eagles rattled off 14 shots in the first half compared to just one by the RedHawks, but the match remained 0-0 at halftime. Fisher finally broke the scoreless tie in the 49th minute on an assist by Stephan Mesdjian (Stoughton, Wis.). They were able to garner some security just moments later on Glynn's unassisted goal at 53:13.

Edgewood College (1-0) will be tested again Sunday when they play at St. Norbert College. The Green Knights are ranked No. 22 in NCAA Division III preseason poll by D3kicks.com, but lost to UW-Oshkosh earlier today, 3-1.
