Eagles place first at Aurora Invite

BRISTOL, Ill. (April 15, 2007) – The Edgewood College men’s golf team come home victorious from the Aurora University Invitational at Blackberry Oaks Golf Course. The Aurora Invite consisted of 38 golfers from 7 Northern Athletics Conference Schools.

 

In today’s event, the team-low score for Edgewood College was posted by junior Bob Stilling (Lake Mills, Wis.) with a score of 78 strokes (+6). Stilling tied for third in today’s round. The rest of the team posted similar low scores including Aaron Gavin (South Milwaukee, Wis.) – who tied for sixth by shooting eight-over-par (80) – John Bailey (Madison, Wis.) and Mike Brennan (Sauk City, Wis.), who both shot for 81 (+9, tied for ninth), and Joe Schwartz (McFarland, Wis.) who shot an 82 (+10, tied for twelfth). Benedictine University had an impressive day as well since their best three golfers scored the three lowest scores of the day. The fourth teammate that accounted for their score dragged them to a team third place by posting a score of 100 (+28).

 

The Eagles will head to Byron, Ill. this Saturday, April 21 to play at the Rockford College Invitational at Prairie View Golf Course. Tee-off is scheduled for noon.
