MADISON, Wis. (Oct. 5, 2007) – Entering the week ranked sixth in NCAA Division III in scoring offense, the Edgewood College women’s soccer team displayed its arsenal in full force Friday night with a convincing 15-0 win over Rockford College at Warner Park.
Kara Peppler (Madison, Wis.) and
Amanda Rhyner (Delavan, Wis.) each netted three goals and
Laura Marx (New Berlin, Wis.) and
Sarah Mueller (Madison, Wis.) both scored twice. Altogether, 13 different Eagles tallied points in the win with nine separate players scoring goals.
Edgewood College, which out-shot the visiting Regents 51-3, took a 6-0 lead at the half only to tack on nine more scores in the final 45 minutes, while goalkeepers
Ilana Bar-av (Madison, Wis.) and
Brittany Labno (Madison, Wis.) recorded the combined shutout.
The Eagles came into the week averaging 4.5 goals per contest and upped their average to 5.5 goals per game. With the victory, Edgewood College (11-1, 7-0 NAC) also remains undefeated in the Northern Athletics Conference and atop the league standings.
