AURORA, Ill. (Oct. 27, 2007) – Aurora University defeated Edgewood College 1-0, Saturday in Aurora, Ill. It was the final regular season game for both teams.

The game was scoreless until the 63rd minute when Spartan Jordan Barry scored, assisted by Danny May. This proved to be all that was necessary for Aurora to beat Edgewood College. Edgewood College freshman goalkeeper Francisco Yacuta-Santana (Verona, Wis.) had four saves on the day. Aurora had seven shots in the first half and out shot the Eagles 10-4.

The loss drops the Eagles record to 9-7 overall and 7-3 in the Northern Athletics Conference. With the win the Aurora Spartans finish conference play unbeaten with an 8-0-2 conference record. They will be the second seed in the conference tournament and receive a first round bye. The Spartans are 12-3-4 overall. The Eagle’s next game is on Monday, October 29 at Warner Park as they host the first round of the NAC tournament.
