WHITEWATER, Wis. (Oct. 26, 2007) – The Edgewood College women's volleyball team fell to host UW-Whitewater 0-3 (16-30, 12-30, 24-30) in their opening game at the UW-Whitewater Invitational. The Warhawks are ranked #7 in the nation in the CSTV/AVCA coaches’ poll and are the 2007 WIAC conference champions. The loss drops the Eagles record to 9-18 on the year.

Edgewood College is scheduled to take on Illinois Wesleyan later tonight at 7 p.m. The Eagles will finish the tournament on Saturday with games against UW-Oshkosh and UW-Platteville at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. respectively. Edgewood College has played both UW system schools earlier in the year, dropping both games 0-3. Oshkosh is currently ranked #9 in the CSTV/AVCA coaches’ poll, while UW-Platteville is ranked #6 in the Midwest region by the NCAA.

The UW-Whitewater Invitational is an eight team tournament. Edgewood College will only face four of the other eight teams in the two day event. The Eagles will not play against fellow NAC school Lakeland College, Simpson College of Iowa and Steven’s Institute.
