WATERTOWN, Wis. (Oct. 25, 2007) —Tara Miller’s (Seattle, Wash.) goal in the 77th minute off a Laura Marx (New Berlin, Wis.) assist, helped the Eagles escape with a 1-0 win over Maranatha Baptist Bible College, Thursday in Watertown, Wis. The win kept Edgewood College perfect in Northern Athletics Conference play, improving their record to 11-0.

The game was deadlocked 0-0 at halftime, despite the Eagles outshooting the Crusaders 8-1 in the first half. Maranatha Baptist goalie Barbara Gerlach recorded 4 saves on the day, all of which occurred in the first half. The win is the fourth straight shutout for the Eagles and tenth on the year overall. Edgewood College has not allowed a goal in 375 minutes, going back to a 1-0 non-conference loss to UW-Stevens Point on October 8th.

The win improves the Eagles record to 15-2 on the year, while the loss drops the Crusaders to 5-11 overall, 3-8 in NAC play. The Eagles finish off conference play on the road, Saturday October 27, versus Aurora University in Aurora, Ill. Both Aurora and Edgewood College are undefeated in conference play. Saturday’s winner will be crowned regular season conference champion and receive home field advantage throughout the NAC tournament.
