MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Oct. 22, 2007) – The Edgewood College women’s soccer team recorded their third straight shutout victory defeating Milwaukee School of Engineering 3-0, Tuesday night at Uihlein Park in Milwaukee, Wis.
Edgewood College’s Laura Marx (New Berlin, Wis.) netted the games first goal in the 35th minute, giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead into the half. In the second half Laura Marx would strike again, scoring a goal in the 71st minute off a corner kick, assisted by Tammi Hagensick (Madison, Wis.). Substitute Kelsey Trieloff (Ridgeway, Wis.) scored the Eagles third goal of the night; once again off of a corner kick. Edgewood College out shot MSOE 12-3. The Eagles have outscored opponents 14-0 in the last three games and are the nation’s top scoring team in Division III.
The win improves the Eagles record to 14-2 overall and a still perfect Northern Athletics Conference record of 10-0. The Raiders fall to 8-6-2 on the year, 6-4-1 in NAC play. The Eagles travel to Watertown, Wis. on Thursday October 25 to take on conference foe Maranatha Baptist. Edgewood College concludes the regular season on Saturday October 27 against NAC opponent Aurora University in Aurora, Ill.
