MADISON, Wis. (Oct. 22, 2007) – Edgewood College honored seniors Karyn Jordahl (Portage, Wis.), Amber Hewitt (DeForest, Wis.), Greta Gueths (Shawano, Wis.) and Katie Stankowski (Franklin, Wis.) at the Todd Wehr Edgedome prior to Monday’s volleyball match against visiting Lawrence University. In the end, it was the Vikings who outlasted the Eagles 36-34 in game four to escape with a 3-1 victory.

Lawrence took game one 30-26, but the Eagles evened the match with a 30-28 decision in game two. The Vikings then went on to a 30-23 win in game three to re-gain the advantage before barely holding off a surging Edgewood College team that rallied to score four straight points to tie game four at 28-28.

Hewitt garnered 17 kills and 15 digs. Kim Paskey (Poynette, Wis.) added 15 kills on 43 attack attempts, including just one error, for a team-high .302 attack percentage. Jordahl registered 10 kills and 11 digs. Stankowski recorded a match-high 37 digs. Gueths finished the evening with nine kills, seven digs, and five blocks.

Lawrence was led by Kelly Mulcahy who tallied 26 kills and 27 digs. The Vikings put together a strong defensive effort with 107 digs overall and six players who had double digits in digs.

Edgewood College will conclude the regular season this weekend at tournament hosted by UW-Whitewater.
