Hannah Williams
MADISON, Wis. (Oct. 2, 2007) – Edgewood College used an 18-8 run to erase an eight-point deficit and win a crucial game four over Milwaukee School of Engineering from the Todd Wehr Edgedome on Tuesday. The Eagles then rallied from behind in game five to defeat MSOE by a final score of 3-2 (32-30,27-30,26-30,30-28,15-13).

Edgewood College would not have been in position to take the match if it would not have also pulled off a 32-30 victory in game one. Neither team held a margin of greater than three points during the back-and-forth tilt.

Allie Sowinski led the Raiders with a match-high 26 kills, but the Eagles kept the outside hitter silent in the fifth and final game. Sowinksi also picked up 21 digs and six service aces, in addition to eight service errors.

Amber Hewitt (DeForest, Wis.) paced the Eagles with 17 kills on 52 attack attempts. Karyn Jordahl (Portage, Wis.) led the squad with a match-high .256 attack percentage to go along with 15 kills, while Kim Pasky (Poynette, Wis.) earned 13 kills.

Edgewood College setter Hannah Williams (Richland Center, Wis.) overcame five ball handling errors to dish out a career-best 47 assists, including 18 assists in the final two games. Five Eagles registered double digits in digs led by 31 from Katie Stankowski (Franklin, Wis.)

With the win, Edgewood College improves to 5-11 (2-5 NAC) and the Raiders fall to 6-8 (3-2 NAC).
