MADISON, Wis.  (Oct.  13, 2007) – Wisconsin Lutheran’s second half goal gave the Warriors a 2-1 victory over Edgewood College in a Northern Athletics Conference men’s soccer game Saturday at Warner Park.  Saturday’s game was senior day as the squads four seniors were honored beforehand.

Wisconsin Lutheran’s Jake Jankowski opened up the scoring netting a goal off of a free kick in the games 23rd minute. Edgewood College answered back with a goal of their own by Mike Bourgeois (Hartford, Wis.) in the 47th minute off an assist by Shaun Glynn (Prairie du Sac, Wis.). Wisconsin Lutheran would net the game winner in the 78th minute by Darren Festerling off a corner kick.

The loss drops Edgewood College’s record to 7-5 on the year and 5-2 in the Northern Athletics Conference. The win improved Wisconsin Lutheran to 8-7 on the year and 5-2 in conference action. Edgewood College’s next match is Thursday October 18 versus Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown, Wis. The Eagles will return home on Saturday October 20th for their final home game of the year versus UW-Oshkosh at Warner Park.
