MADISON, Wis. (Oct. 13, 2007) –  Edgewood College shutout Wisconsin Lutheran 2-0 in Northern Athletics Conference women’s soccer action Saturday at Warner Park.  It was the final regular season home game of the year and Senior Day, as the teams five seniors were honored.

Laura Marx (New Berlin, Wis.) opened up the scoring for the Eagles with a goal in the 16th minute off a pass from teammate Amanda Rhyner (Delavan, Wis.). Elyse Clouthier (Oconomowoc, Wis.) netting the games second goal in the 62nd minute to give Edgewood College the 2-0 lead. The Eagles outshot the Warriors 31-2. Wisconsin Lutheran goalkeeper Katie Sloan recorded 12 saves in the game.

The win improved Edgewood College’s record 12-2 on the year and 8-0 in conference play while Wisconsin Lutheran dropped to 2-14-1 on the year and 2-8 in Northern Athletics Conference play.  Edgewood College next match is on Saturday October 20 versus Alverno College in Milwaukee.
