MADISON, Wis (Jan. 10th, 2006) --
Chris DeMarco (Appleton, Wis.) led all scorers with 25 points as he led the Eagles to a 70-54 win over Concordia University-Chicago Wednesday night at the Todd Wehr Edgedome. The Eagles are now 5-1 in Northern Athletics Conference play and share the top spot in the standings with Aurora University.
The Cougars (2-8, 1-6 NAC) led at the half in part thanks to 16-for-26 shooting, but the Eagles (7-5, 5-1 NAC) responded to the call as they held the Cougars to under 30-percent shooting from the field in the second half. While the Cougars were cooling off, the Eagles were heating up as they went on a 24-2 second half run which was capped by a Brian Donais (Milwaukee, Wis.) three pointer to seal the deal for the College.
The win puts Edgewood College at the top of the standings alongside Aurora University. The Eagles will look to remain on top when they welcome in Rockford College on January 13th. The tip-off is scheduled for 4:20 p.m. and live audio can be heard by logging on to www.EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com or broadcast on Relevant Radio 1240 AM.
