MILWAUKEE (September 28, 2006) -- The Edgewoood College women's volleyball team cruised to two more victories in a triangular hosted by Alverno College on Thursday. The Eagles (5-12, 4-1 NAC) defeated Alverno 3-1 before knocking off provisional Northern Athletics Conference member MSOE, 3-2. The sweep made it five straight victories for The College.
The Eagles hit for a .360 attack percentage in the four-game match (30-26, 30-21, 24-30, 30-19) over the Inferno. Four players posted double figures in kills led by Kim Paskey (Poynette, Wis.), who finished with 18 on 28 attempts. Setter Dayna McCauley (Cuba City, Wis.) set a new career high with 52 assists.
In a back-and-forth, thrilling five-game match with MSOE, which the Eagles won by scores of 30-27, 19-30, 32-30, 27-30, 16-14, Paskey again recorded 18 kills while libero Inthava Borihane (Green Bay, Wis.) had 46 digs. The Eagles also had a total of nine team blocks in the match.
