MADISON, Wis. (September 23, 2006) -- Edgewood College fell a game behind Aurora University in the Norhtern Athletics Conference women's soccer standings with a 4-1 loss to the Spartans at Breese Stevens Field on Saturday.
With the loss, the Eagles record dipped to 5-3 overall (2-1 NAC) while Aurora improved to 6-2-1 overall and remained undefeated in conference play with a 3-0 mark.
Nikki Counsell and Erin Kwiatkowski both scored early in the contest to give the Spartans a 2-0 lead. Amanda Rhyner (Delevan, Wis.) got the Eagles on the scorebaord minutes into the second half on an assist from Tammi Hagensick (Madison, Wis.). But that's as close as Edgewood would get as the Spartans tacked on two additional goals in the 82nd and 84th minutes.
