MADISON, Wis. (September 20, 2006) – The Edgewood College women’s soccer team rattled off its fifth consecutive win Thursday night with a 5-1 decision over Clarke College at Breese Stevens Field. Freshman
Elyse Clouthier (Oconomowoc, Wis.) scored twice, the first and the last of the Eagles’ goals, as Edgewood improved to 5-2 on the season.
Clouthier’s first goal came in the 38th minute unassisted and the Eagles carried the 1-0 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Tammi Hagensick (Madison, Wis.) opened the second half barrage at the 57:51 mark on an assist from
Amanda Rhyner (Delavan, Wis.).
Hagensick then assisted
Larissa Nach (Monroe, Wis.) on Nach’s sixth goal of the season in the 78th minute, which sparked a late explosion by the Eagles’ offense.
Elizabeth Leadley (Whitefish Bay, Wis.) and Clouthier followed suit by each finding the back of the Crusader’s net to give the Eagles three scores all in the last 12 minutes of the game.
Clarke’s only goal was mixed in at the 84:03 mark by Melissa Hennig. It was also the Crusaders’ (2-7) only shot on goal compared to 13 by Edgewood College.
The Eagles will host Aurora University at 11 a.m. this Saturday, Sept. 23. It marks the first time that the Spartans will visit Breese Stevens Field.
