MADISON, Wis. (September 20, 2006) – Edgewood College won its third straight men’s soccer match Thursday night with a 3-0 win over Clarke College from Breese Stevens Field. The Eagles, who improved to 4-1-2 overall with the victory, have outscored their opponents 25-3 in the three-game winning streak, which includes two consecutive shutouts.

All three of the Eagles’ goals Thursday came in the first half with freshman Jerrid Dokey (Green Bay, Wis.) recording his fifth goal of the season to put Edgewood College on the scoreboard in the 32nd minute on an assist from Shaun Glynn (Prairie du Sac, Wis.).

Tom Kallies (La Crosse, Wis.) then found former Logan High School teammate Harper Taggart (La Crosse, Wis.) for the Eagles’ second score at the 35:39 mark. Less then three minutes later, Kallies assisted on another goal with a nice cross to reg Weiland (Green Bay, Wis.), who capped off the scoring for the evening. It was Weiland’s third straight game finding the back of the net.

Defensively, Edgewood College held the Crusaders (4-5) to just one shot on goal. On the other end, the Eagles rattled off 23 shots, 12 of which were on goal.

The Eagles will be back at home on Saturday when they return to Northern Athletics Conference competition with Aurora University visiting Breese Stevens Field. The meeting marks the first-ever match-up between the Eagles and the Spartans, who will come into the contest leading the NAC with a 6-0-2 record and perfect 2-0 conference mark.
