FITCHBURG, Wis. (September 13, 2006) -- The Edgewood College women's tennis team fell below .500 with a 8-1 loss to Beloit College Wednesday at McKee Farms Park.
The lone bright spot in the match was freshman Kelsey Steinhorst (Baraboo, Wis.), who scored the only point for the Eagles by defeating Erika Zerin 6-7, 7-5, and 10-2 in No. 3 singles competition. The win now gives Steinhorst a 5-1 record in singles competition this season and is her fourth consecutive singles win.
The Eagles will look to return to a .500 average as they travel next to Lisle, Ill. for a match with Benedictine University on Sept. 16 at 9:00 a.m.
