WATERTOWN, Wis. (April 22, 2006) – Edgewood College softball extended its win streak to 13 games Saturday, the longest winning streak in school history, by sweeping Maranatha Baptist Bible College in a Lake Michigan Conference doubleheader, 6-1 and 10-2, from Brandt-Quirk Park.

Nichole Johnson (Waunakee, Wis.) and Jamie Kurt (Dane, Wis.) each collected four hits. Kurt also drove in four runs as did Noelle Wimer (Dodgeville, Wis.). Edgewood pitchers Kristin Borre (Beloit, Wis.) and Jenna Ryan (Waunakee, Wis.) earned the victories.

Edgewood College is currently 23-9 overall and ranked No. 5 in the Great Lakes Region. The Eagles will put their undefeated (12-0) conference record back on the line on Monday when they host Wisconsin Lutheran College in a twinbill at McGaw Park in Fitchburg.
