NEW BERLIN, Wis. (April 19, 2006) – Cody Flynn (Eureka, Calif.) and Bill Dictus (Combined Locks, Wis.) combined to throw a four-hit complete game shutout Wednesday against Milwaukee School of Engineering. Flynn compiled 10 strikeouts in eight innings on the mound.

The Eagles broke a scoreless tie in the top of the third inning when two errors by the Raiders helped lead to three Edgewood runs. John Fish (Wisconsin Dells, Wis.) and Ricky Martinez (Beach Park, Ill.) each drove in a run in the fifth inning to give the Eagles a 5-0 cushion.

Martinez collected another RBI with a single in the seventh following a leadoff double by Shawn Burcum (DeForest, Ill.). Burcum, who went 3-for-3 at the plate with three runs scored, plated Edgewood’s final run of the afternoon on a fielder’s choice in the ninth inning. Karl Reynolds (Dodgeville, Wis.) also had a good day offensively going 3-for-5 with a pair of runs.
