MADISON, Wis. (March 1, 2006) -- Both the Edgewood College baseball and Edgewood College softball teams will play their respective season openers this weekend. Baseball opens the 2006 season this Friday, Mar. 3 in a doubleheader against Bethel University at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis, while the softball program will compete against Northland College on Saturday, Mar. 4 at the Superior Dome in Marquette, Mich.

Each team will play a total of four games. Following their meeing with Bethel, baseball is scheduled to play Augsburg College on Saturday, Mar. 4 in a doubleheader. The doubleheaders are slated to begin at 10 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday evening.

Softball's game versus Northland College is at 8 a.m. (CST) followed by single game with Augsburg College. The Eagles will also play Crown College and The College of St. Catherine on Sunday, Mar. 5 prior to returning to Madison later that evening.
