MADISON, Wis. (Febuary 4, 2006) -- Seth Cooper* (Madison, Wis.) scored a game-high 26 points and added a season-high seven assists in an 81-76 win over Concordia University Saturday night at the Todd Wehr Edgedome. The victory gives Edgewood an overall record of 12-10 and 7-5 in Lake Michigan Conference. The win also guarantees the Eagles at least a fourth-place finish in the Lake Michigan Conference standings and at least a No. 4 seed with a home game in the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament.

The first half featured poor shooting by both teams. Both the Eagles and the Falcons shot below 40-percent from the field and together combined to shoot 2-for-20 from three-point territory.

After scoring 53 combined points in the first half, both teams picked up their shooting and exploded for 103 second-half points. Edgewood shot 68.4 percent from the field and also made 24-of-29 attempts from the free-throw line.

In addition to Cooper, scoring in double figures for the Eagles were Chris DeMarco (Appleton, Wis.), who added 17 points including 11-of-14 from the free-throw line, Charlie Averkamp (New Berlin, Wis.), who added 13 points and nine rebounds, and Ryan Johnsen (Greendale, Wis.), who added 10 points of his own.

Matt Peets and Dave Lipanot combined for 48 of the Falcon’s 76 points and shot a combined 16-of-28 from the field.  Lipanot hit three three-pointers in the final minute to get Concordia to within five points at the end of regulation.

The Eagles travel to Marian College on Tuesday, Feb. 7th to battle the Sabres in the Eagles second to last Lake Michigan Conference showdown.
