MILWAUKEE (October 24, 2006) -- Edgewood College cruised to another women's soccer victory Tuesday with a 5-0 shutout at Wisconsin Lutheran College.

Erika Thompson (Waukesha, Wis.) and Elyse Clouthier (Oconomowoc, Wis.) both scored twice and each had an assist as the Eagles (11-4, 8-2 NAC) leaped into second place in the Northern Athletics Conference standings following their season-best sixth straight win.

Kelli Sullivan (Chippewa Falls, Wis.) tallied the last goal of the evening on an assist from Ashley Hoffman (Dane, Wis.) in the 89th minute. Tammi Hagensick (Madison, Wis.) and Laura Marx (New Berlin, Wis.) were also credited with an assist in Tuesday's match.

The loss sent the host Warriors to 5-11-1 overall and 4-6-1 in league play.

Edgewood College can clinch second place and a first-round bye in the 2066 NAC Tournament with a win Wednesday's night against Alverno College at Breese Stevens Field.
