KOHLER, Wis. (October 16, 2006) -- Edgewood College has a commanding lead following day one of the 2006 Northern Athletics Conference Men's Golf Championship. The Eagles posted a team score of 311 following the first round at Whistling Straits Golf Course. Aurora University (337) sits in second place, nearly 30 strokes back.

Only five individuals shot in the 70's Monday with four of the five players being from Edgewood College. Mike Brennan (Sauk City, Wis.) and John Bailey (Madison, Wis.) are tied atop the leaderboard after each carding four over par-76. Andy Hosking (Madison, Wis.) posted a 77 and Bob Stilling (Lake Mills, Wis.) shot an 80. Joe Schwartz (McFarland, Wis.) had the Eagles' high score with an 80, but was still in the top-10 at the end of the day.

Tee time on Tuesday was 9 a.m. at Whistling Straits Golf Course. The tournament will conclude later on Tuesday afternoon.
