ANGOLA, Ind. (Sept. 3, 2005) -- The Edgewood College men’s soccer team opened the 2005 season this past weekend at the Tri-State Invitational. The Eagles fell to Taylor University in the regular-season opener, 2-0, on Friday, Sept. 2, but then rallied to a 2-1 double-overtime victory over host Tri-State University on Saturday, Sept. 3.
Versus Tri-State, Jeremy Thoe (Waupaca, Wis.) scored the game-winning goal unassisted at the 107:00 mark. Thoe was also credited with the assist on the Eagles’ first goal of the afternoon which was scored by Kevin Fisher (Green Bay, Wis.) just over two minutes into the contest.
Edgewood College will host Beloit College in the home opener from Breese Stevens Field this Friday, Sept. 9. The match is scheduled to start at 8 p.m.
