NEW BERLIN, Wis. (Sept. 12, 2005) -- The Edgewood College women's golf team shot a 372 on Monday to claim the team title at the Wisconsin Lutheran Invitational held at New Berlin Hills Golf Course.
Taryn Rechlicz (Madison, Wis.) earned medalist honors with an 81, which was 12 strokes better than second place finisher and teammate Kaitlyn Herzog (Waukesha, Wis.), who shot a 93.
Concordia's Amanda Commons posted a 98 to place third followed by Edgewood's Nicole Gluzinski (Lindenhurst, Ill.) and Casey Brandreth (Brighton, Mich.), who tied for fourth with a 99.
Lakeland College placed second to the Eagles with score of 484, giving Edgewood College a 112 stroke cushion. The team victory marks the second top finish for the Eagles in Lake Michigan Conference meets this season and the sixth consecutive first-place finish stretching back to the LMC opener in 2004.
Edgewood College will be back in action next at the Clarke College Invitational held at the Dubuque Golf and Country Club in Dubuque, Iowa on Thursday, Sept. 15.
