FITCHBURG, Wis. (April 16, 2005) – The Edgewood College softball team improved it overall record to 14-10 and remained tied for first place in the Lake Michigan Conference (7-1) with a doubleheader sweep over Milwaukee School of Engineering from McGaw Park on Saturday. The Eagles defeated MSOE (2-20, 0-7 LMC) by a final score of 2-1 in game one and 12-2 in game two.
Jessica Stephens (St. Charles, Ill.) went a combined 5-for-6 on the day with three runs scored to lead the Eagles offensively. Brittany Butcher (St. Charles, Ill.) picked up the pitching victory in game one, allowing just three hits and an earned run while striking out five. Amy Bahler (Monroe, Wis.) earned the victory in game two. Bahler pitched six innings, surrendering four hits and two earned runs. She fanned seven MSOE batters.
The Eagles will travel to Carroll College on Sunday, April 17 for a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Waukesha.
