Denay Hering was one of three Edgewood College athletes with a top-five finish Saturday at the Wisconsin Private Colleges Championships in De Pere, Wis. Hering, a Lake Mills, Wis., native, won the 800 meters in a field that featured 23 other runners in a time of 2:26.25. She beat out Carthage’s Maddy Schwartz by just over a second.
