Papenthien, playing at No. 1 singles, defeated Mark Hardesty of St. Mary’s College (Md.) and Jacob Khodakov of Ramapo College in straight sets. He teamed with Patrick Lagaman for a pair of dominating wins, 8-1 and 8-0, in their two No. 1 doubles matches.
