In the NACC's opening weekend of play, Papenthien went a combined 3-1 at No. 1 singles and doubles. The sophomore highlighted a 5-4 win over Wisconsin Lutheran as he partnered with Patrick Lagman in doubles for an 8-2 win and then clinched the match with a 3-6, 7-5, 6-1 win over the Warriors' Lee Johnson.
