Spitzer continued to be on a tear at the plate this season as she improved her season batting average 20 points, from .536 to .556. The freshman also extended her hitting streak to 14-games to start her career. This week she hit a blistering .588 with 10 hits, five of which were extra base hits, three doubles, one triple and her first career home run. Against Wisconsin Lutheran she was only a home run away from hitting for the cycle. Spitzer also drove in eight runs this week while scoring six more.
