Verbauwhede broke her own school record in the 5,000-meter run on Friday night at the UW-Platteville Invitational. She ran a 17:21.07 in an event that featured many of the areas fastest runners. Verbauwhede added a third place finish in the 1,500-meter run (4:49.08) on Saturday.
