Eagles Baseball Preview

After reaching their third Saturday in four years at last year's NACC Tournament, Baseball heads into 2026 looking to build on their momentum and to take the next step with an experienced lineup and rotation.

“We lost some key contributors from last year’s roster but return some excellent baseball players this year,” said head coach Al Brisack. “We have seen our returners make significant jumps in their development.  Our new guys have quickly picked up on how we play and shown they have the ability to help us win games.”

2026 Baseball Schedule

A competitive slate awaits Edgewood University in both non-conference and NACC action in 2026. They head down south for their traditional three-game series against the Millsaps Majors to open the season starting on Friday. The Eagles will head to Alabama for a trio of tough opponents starting on Friday, March 6. Spring Break will see Edgewood University fly down to Florida for the Studer's Blue Wahoos Stadium Challenge starting on Wednesday, March 11 against Carroll. UW-Whitewater, ranked No. 1 in the preseason D3baseball poll, awaits on Monday, March 16.

An action-packed NACC schedule opens at Illinois Tech on Saturday, March 21. After a non-conference tilt at No. 18 UW-Oshkosh on Thursday, March 26, the Eagles will open up Stampfl Field as they host Marian on Tuesday, March 31. The Dominican Stars will pay a visit for Cutting Edge Program Day on Saturday, April 11 before Edgewood University takes on Concordia Wisconsin for Veteran's Appreciation Day on Tuesday, April 14. Residents Hall Night will see Beloit taking a trip to Stampfl Field on Thursday, April 23. 

Wrapping up the home slate, the Eagles host Aurora on Saturday, April 25 for Legacy Exteriors Senior & Alumni Day. A rematch of last year's NACC Tournament Championship concludes Edgewood University's regular season as they take on receiving votes MSOE on Friday, May 1.

With Jacob Carney, Kyle Prindle and Hayden Hellenbrand returning for their third and fourth years as starters, we feel like our interior defense will be mature, athletic and physical. Dominic Lee, Ryan Harris and Jacob Minnear bring veteran leadership and an understanding of what needs to happen to compete with the best teams in the country.

Al Brisack
Al Brisack is entering his 27th year as Eagles skipper with 491 wins under his belt. He's led the program to four-straight NACC Tournament appearances and has reached two NCAA Tournaments as the head of the program.

By the Numbers

4 - The number of wins in last year's NACC Tournament. The mark was the program's best as a member of the NACC and matched the record set back in 2001 as a member of the LMC.

8 - Last year's squad had eight players named All-NACC, matching the program record (2006, LMC) and a record in the NACC era. Four All-NACC players return.

49 - Jacob Carney batted in 49 runs, leading the team and fourth in the conference.

34 - The Eagles turned 34 double plays, tied for first in the NACC.

5 - Mark Tor earned five saves last season, second in the league. He had a program-record 21 appearances.

65 - Aiden Shumaker struck out 65 batters, third in the NACC. His 29 strikeouts looking were second in the conference.

33 - Prindle's 33 walks paced the league last season.
